Melville: Toward an Existential Vision of of the Universe is a specialization seminar conducted in the form of a conversatorium, i.e. it is a form of thought exchange requiring that its participants be disposed to contribute to the intellectual growth of the group. The course has been tailored to meet the needs of undergraduate students of English/World literature. It has been designed as a series of sixteen ninety-minutes’ meetings over the period of eight weeks (two meetings a week) or sixteen weeks (one meeting a week)
