Students are evaluated constantly throughout the duration of the course on the basis of the quality of their contribution to discussions on issues raised in class, reflecting the quality of work invested in reading texts or studying visual materials assigned as homework. Active participation in discussion will account for 80% of the total final grade.
Central in the process of evaluation is the intellectual courage to ask new questions, or to present the old ones in a new light. The ingenuity of research, however, must rely upon the discipline of thought, reflected in the composition of the paper. The discipline, combined with the boldness of exploration, will earn the students the remaining 20 % of the grade.
In short, the grade primarily depends on the student's comittment to the project; after the first meeting I am sure that everyone will score very high at the end of the day.Please, note that attendance is mandatory: two absences are acceptable, three need to be consulted.Summary:
